Gill Fleeces
These technical pieces couldn't be more different from the mass-produced fleece garments at clothing stores. Super soft, dense, and pill-resistant, Gill fleece traps warmth and wicks moisture. Jackets, smocks, and salopettes are slim fitting and flat seamed for ease of layering. They are designed to be worn under waterproof garments and also on land as casual wear. Considered a mid layer, they also can be worn without a waterproof shell in dry conditions.
Your natural body temperature is 37 degrees centigrade. Gill’s i37 fleece mid-layers, designed for cool and cold weather sailing, are rated on a scale from i3 to i5, increasing in warmth as you go up the scale.
